Chantelle & Cassie's Amazing Race Audition Vid...

Meet Chantelle and Cassie. Chantelle is Lannie's hairstylist (she raves about her) and she asked if I would help Chantelle and Cassie make an audition video for the CBS show 'The Amazing Race'.

How could I refuse? These two are the dynamic duo! I think they've got the right stuff.

It was a quick, fun shoot yesterday.

Manti + Rachel: Built to Last

Sometimes it's just amazing to be around so much joy and happiness when a couple like Manti and Rachel come out of the temple. Manti is so sweet to Rachel, and really, all I had to do was point the camera in their general direction and out pops a great temple video!

Funny that according to Manti in their Love Story video, he thought he was "headed for the friend zone". Well, now it appears to be more like "To infinity...and beyond!"

Todd & Britney: Cruel To Be Kind

You know, most wedding love stories are a lot like a nice melted cheese sandwich. Todd and Britney's story was all that...but didn't hold the onions.

Just keepin' it real. ;-)

Annie + Mike: Chances Are...

This fabulous couple came to me with a rather ambitious idea for a love story video: shooting at the airport! Well, me being me, I can't pass up a chance to do something I might get in trouble for...but let me just say this--only in Utah could I get away with this! If it were LAX, well, 'nuff said.

Sooo, as it turns out, Annie and Mike have a really awesome tale of how they met and fell in love, and...it's "kind of like a movie". They had dating snapshots and a genuinely cool proposal video Mike took on one of their infamous flights together, which of course had to be included at the end of their story.

What they both really wanted to do was try and re-enact bits of their story on a Southwest flight, which of course was impossible, so my idea was to shoot a "re-enactment" of sorts, but instead shoot what we could at the airport with a feel that would be more like "moments before they first met" at the airport.

Hopefully the results were worth the risky business of showing up at the airport with a steadicam rig, etc. ;-)

Note to self: Airports are not the quietest place to conduct interview shots.

Brooke's Bridal

This was an especially quick shoot as our original plan to shoot at the temple was scuttled by an early closure of the grounds that day. (for an event at the conference center)

So we headed over to Memory Grove and the Capitol as an alternative. Brooke's a trooper but for some reason couldn't help but giggle a lot that evening. Made for some great candid's between poses. :-)

Chase + Olivia. Groomal.

Had a lot of fun with this uber-cool couple. The weather threatened all day but somehow calmed down enough late in the afternoon to give us some very nice, soft light for stills and video.

Congrats guys!

Jake + Chelsey: Fun in the Snow

A dizzying amount of fun hangin' with these two and making a date video up at the tubing hill in Park City. I felt like Wile E. Coyote trying to keep up with them. ;-)

Vanessa & Lucas: Reception Highlights

Vanessa & Lucas: Temple

Vanessa and Lucas had just flown in from Hawaii (BYU Hawaii students) and had to face our famous winter weather at the Salt Lake Temple.

I tried to coach them into imagining that those blasts of wind chill were really just tropical breezes...to no avail of course.

In the end, both my coat and a blanket I brought for Vanessa were no match for the snow blowing sideways on us, which in classic Utah fashion, came suddenly. We had about 10 mintues of relatively calm cold for family pictures...and then everything got...challenging, but I gotta hand it to them, they were troopers.

And what an amazing family! Lots of sunshine and happiness, despite the weather.

Vanessa & Lucas: Date and Love Story

Vanessa and Lucas are an absolutely adorable couple. We got together to shoot for about an hour at Vanessa's house...less than 2 days before their wedding. (they had just flown in from Hawaii, both being BYU Hawaii students)

Lucas is really, REALLY tall (6' 9" I think) and plays basketball professionally in Brazil. (his native country)

Vanessa has great timing when fouling so that he can't dunk on her. She nearly took his arm off on one play...as you'll see.

Saia + Mikell, Temple

You know it's a small world here in Utah, and it was once again cemented in my mind when a number of people stopped at our booth at both the Salt Palace and Thanksgiving Point bridal shows, glanced at our TV and said "hey, I know that couple!" It's funny how often that happens, and it seemed like the frequency went up when we played this piece.

These two are ridiculously in love and just have a wonderful, carefree spirit. So much fun to spend time filming them.
